The organisers of the Paris Olympics have apologised for any offence caused by a skit in the games' opening ceremony that featured drag stars in a parody of Leonardo Da Vinci's famous "The Last Supper" masterpiece.

This similarity drew criticism from Catholic leaders and conservatives such as Elon Musk and Donald Trump Jr.
